Crazy Hoffman Adventures: A Whole Half a Year!

Sadie is SIX months old! I seriously cannot believe how fast time is going and how much she is growing.

Oh sweet Sadie,
You light up our lives! You are usually so very happy. Often in the morning, you will wake up and look around and once you see me or your dad you get a big grin on your face. You don't really like tummy time, but you love standing and are very strong. Right at around 6 months, you figured out how to sit up on your own and you definitely prefer to sit so that you can see everything going on around you. You love to laugh and smile at everything- and that is not an exaggeration! You love being outside and as soon as we come in you just keep looking outside and sometimes you even get a little bit upset if I don't take you back out. You adore our kitties. You love to watch them walk by and pet them- which really just means you grab their fur and end up poking their eyes, but they are very tolerant of you most of the time! You are growing and growing like crazy. You are still pretty skinny, but I think it is because you are getting taller faster than you can put weight on. You love love love real food. So far we have given you oatmeal cereal, carrots, applesauce, squash, peas, soup broth (from dinner), and of course ice cream! Your favorite thing is to grab the spoon and "help" us feed you. You also like to try and take water cups out of our hands and try to drink them yourself. You act like you want to be grown up already. When you get really excited about something, you kick your arms and legs fast and energetically. We took you swimming and you absolutely loved it! You would splash and kick your legs, then just stare at people for about 3o seconds, then repeat the process over again. You enjoy getting your diaper changed and sometimes you laugh about it- though I suspect some of the times it is because we are accidentally tickling you. Speaking of tickling, you are very ticklish under your chin, your armpits, and your belly. Your giggles and toothless smiles are contagious; we can't help but be happy around you. You love to talk (and screech) and make the cutest gurgling sounds in the back of your throat. We are so incredibly grateful for you Mercedes! We love to watch your little mind work and develop. We love you so much!
